What kind of church is this?
Lake Ridge is a community church, and that means we’re a group of neighbours and friends who are looking to be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do the things Jesus asks us to do. With this heart-focus, we work for the wellbeing of Chestermere by learning to love our real, actual neighbours. We believe the ordinary details and routines of our everyday lives are exactly where God works and wants to meet us; as a community, we’re learning to be more attentive. Join us in the discovery!
What’s your back-story?
Back in 2011, Lake Ridge was just a handful of individuals meeting in people’s homes. Started as a church plant from Hope Community Covenant Church in Strathmore, Lake Ridge was blessed into beginning with prayers to be a healthy community-based church in Chestermere. We are a part of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Canada, and the Evangelical Covenant Church, a family of about 800 churches across North America. While the Covenant grew out of Swedish Pietist Lutheran roots, we are now a multiethnic, intergenerational, missional movement.
I’m new to this church thing, so…
Perfect! You’ll fit right in. We think church is a lot like a campfire. We come together to experience and gather around the warmth and light of Jesus. The closer we get to Jesus, the closer we get to each other. It’s here that we tell our stories, hear the story of God, learn to pray, and grow. So we encourage visitors to take their time, meet others, eat together, ask questions, join a group, and practice the ways of Jesus bit by bit. You’re welcome here.
I’m going through a hard time, can I talk with someone?
It’s normal to go through hard seasons, we all do. The gift of being in community is that you do not have to walk through this time alone. We prioritize prayer, making space for conversations about faith and life, as well as helping with more practical needs like meals. Share your need with our Care team and someone will get in touch to find out more and connect you to support. If you need supports beyond what we can provide, we will refer you to qualified counsellors, spiritual directors, psychologists, and support networks. We do not have to walk alone. Email care@lakeridgecommunity.com to start a conversation.
Do you do weddings?

Do you do child dedications or infant baptisms?
Our commitment is to raise our children knowing they are loved by God and have a place in God’s family through Jesus. As a Covenant Church we do both child dedications and infant baptisms. Both have deep roots in our history and depending on your own background, you may have preference for one or the other, and we would be happy to discuss this with you. For more details email Pastor Preston at preston@lakeridgecommunity.com
