A Symbol & Step of Faith

Baptism is a profound moment in an individual’s journey of faith in Jesus. At Lake Ridge we love to celebrate and gather around each person who chooses to express their faith through baptism. Our denomination, the Evangelical Covenant Church, practices both infant and adult believer baptism.

Before someone is baptized we take time to teach, listen, pray for, and encourage them. Baptisms often happen in August or September and we set aside a special Sunday morning to gather as a community down by Lake Chestermere. Along with worship, we gather to hear stories of faith in Jesus as we baptize those who choose to express their faith in the presence of our community. Then we celebrate with a shared meal.
